What Happened Here?

The Winding Road Drivers' Club, and The-Winding-Road.com have been supported by my personal income and savings. The downturn in the economy means I had considerable difficulty finding new employment.
However, that's changed and I return to work on 14 June 2010. I have a couple of items I have to take care of before I get back on the road, but it shouldn't be long now.

Where are all things I'm used to?

A back-up of the old site and it's database are stored on my personal computer. That information and media will be used to bring up a much improved site.

How will things be different?

• New users wont have to create accounts. The site will be an OpenID(google, yahoo, etc) consumer.
• Existing users will be able to use their OpenID account to login.
• Sharing photos, videos, and other media will be simplified. No more uploading or posting links to TWR. Just add tags to your media on other sites and we'll find it.
• We'll have more information and better written articles.
• An easier to use store. I'm not certain what this will look like, but the old one sucked.
• Every page will enable conversation.

When

I don't have an answer for you. Bits and pieces will roll out as I figure them out. But I''m not a web developer by trade, and most of what I'll be doing is actually pretty complex behind the scenes.
